Hey everyone! Winter has been cancelled! With spring like conditions here in Kelowna, and no snow on the valley bottom I’m making a Notice of Motion that winter be cancelled! There have even been rumours of Tiger Woods sampling our golf courses to get away from the media blitz in the USA.

Seriously though, 2010 is here and it’s time to get thinking about your May long weekend vacation at Lake Okanagan Resort.

• Thought about relaxing on the houseboat or going on the wine tasting trip?

Don’t hesitate any longer to register for the 2010 District 5 Kinvention, or you’ll miss out on your chance to be a part of “Hollywood Takes a Vacation” with your fellow Kin. The Kelowna Kinsmen are working hard to ensure everyone’s’ fun level is high and the yawning (boredom) is kept to a low.

On behalf of the Kelowna Kinsmen and as Chairman of the 2010 District Kinvention I want to invite you all to the sunny Okanagan. The Kelowna Kinsmen are honoured to be hosting such a fantastic event where we get to show case all the wonderful things our valley has to offer, and celebrate Kin!

Our theme of “Hollywood Takes a Vacation” is fitting, as there truly have been many sightings of stars in the valley. And why wouldn’t the Stars want to visit here? The Okanagan Valley is well known for our lakes, beaches, wines, lots of sun, our famous lake creature – Ogopogo and best of all our friendly people So don’t be surprised if you see Marilyn Monroe, or Tom Cruise, or Rambo taking in the spectacular scenes and activities of Lake Okanagan Resort. Or is that just Kin dressed up to have a good time? As with most of our conventions, there will be business to tend to, speeches to read, and fines imposed. But our club doesn’t want the attendees to get lost in the humdrum of Kin business. This is why we have chosen the Lake Okanagan Resort as our convention site. The amenities they offer are nothing short of amazing - golf, tennis, swimming, mountain biking, and spa treatments to mention a few. There will always be something to do with your spare time (or just relax), and we ensure you there will be plenty of that. The weekend at Lake Okanagan Resort will undoubtedly make you feel like you’ve been on a vacation.

In closing, when registering for this spectacular event don’t forget to mention if you want to be signed up to be aboard the houseboat cruise, or if you wish to taste our fine Okanagan wines as a part of the winery estate trip that is planned. Space is limited for both events, so please confirm your preference NOW, as we want everyone to have fun and attend either party. Or perhaps another round of golf or time to yourself is what you would prefer. That’s just fine - after all it’s your vacation. Just let us know.
